ContainArt was an initiative by the City of Ballarat in 2015 to exhibit art within the region in the form of a repurposed shipping container with windows allowing art to be viewed at all times. My concept was to contrast regional and urban landscapes through large photos of my backyard in Hepburn, Victoria against photos of details from my recent trip to New York City. These works were interspersed with sculptural acrylic pieces based on inkblots and Buddhist iconography. I was exploring the notion of the unconscious mind and the effects of the quiet rural landscape verses the hectic, urban environment.
