Alaya

The intersection between mediums is often where I find the most engaging art. As part of the Ballarat International Foto Biennale, ‘Alaya’ questioned where photography starts and ends through an installation of artworks loosely based on photos of the surrounding area. These works were printed onto transparent acrylic free-standing sculptural forms that stood and hang within the bright and scented space of the Ballarat Botanical Conservatory. The artworks incorporated Buddhist iconography together with inkblot forms echoing the colour of the surrounding flowers.
